System Social Worker

The Jeff Davis County Schools System Social Worker is responsible for supporting students and advocating for their emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing.  The Social Worker serves as a link between the home, school, and community. The Social Worker also assist families in accessing community resources for financial needs, food, and/or clothing.  The Social Worker utilizes preventative measures such as home visits, facilitation of groups, coordination of community services and collaboration with school staff to improve student achievement.
 
IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE:
When contacting the system social worker, please include your name, student's name, school your child attends, and your concern or question. The social worker will respond to you by phone, email, or schedule a virtual/in-person meeting.
 
SUSPECTED CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT
If you become aware, or concerned, regarding a child’s well-being (i.e. abuse or neglect), please contact the Department of Family and Children Services at 1-855-GA-CHILD/1-855-422-4453 to make a report. Your identity will remain anonymous. If you believe that a child is in immediate danger, please call 911. ​
